Phillips, CFA, CAIA\n                     Sr. Vice President and Chief Investment Officer\n                     The Washington Trust Company\n\n \n \n\n\n\n \nDESCRIPTION:    \n \nPeter’s presentation will briefly review 2019 financial market performance and highlight key drivers and expectations for 2020.  The presentation’s focus will then switch to long-term capital market return assumptions, which are significantly below the returns achieved in the recent past and may impact financial planning and asset allocation decisions.  \n\n\n \nBIO:\n \nPeter joined Washington Trust Wealth Management in 2007, bringing with him over 17 years of equity research and portfolio management experience in both the high-net-worth and institutional settings.  He oversees the investment research function supporting proprietary equity strategies and the dissemination of key investment information across business lines, and serves as chair of both the Equity Strategy and Trade Management and Oversight committees.  Peter plays a major role in formulating investment policy and communicates the firm’s point of view to the public through webinars and special presentations to accountants, attorneys, and other professionals.\n\n\n \n\n\nPeter holds a degree in finance and communications from Syracuse University and earned an M.S. in finance with high distinction from Bentley College. He is both a Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst charter-holder.  He currently serves on the investment committees of the Rhode Island Foundation, Care New England Health System, Save the Bay, and the 100 Club of Rhode Island.  Peter is a past president of the CFA Society Providence and an adjunct instructor of securities analysis at Bryant University.\n\n\n \nSponsored by The Washington Trust Company \n
