Schofield, Esq.; Joanne Speroni-Woody, CTFA\n\n\n \nDinner Meeting\n \nDate:  Monday, November 3, 2025\n \nPlace:  Hope Club\n             6 Benevolent Street\n             Providence, RI\n \nTime:  5:30-8:00 p.m.\n \nWho:  This is an EPCRI Member Only event. \n \n\nOne Big Beautiful Bill Act …  Clients Be Nimble, Clients Be Quick\n \nThe One Big Beautiful Bill Act was signed into law on July 4, 2025.   Coming in at just under 1000 pages, with over 300 separate provisions, at least 60 of which become effective January 1st, there is a lot to learn and not much time to do it.  \n \nWhat’s changing?   How does it affect estate planning considerations such as retirement plans, gifting to individuals and charities, business succession planning, and income, estate, and gift taxes?   When will the new provisions take effect?\n \nJoin us for this timely review of the major changes to the tax law and their implications, and a lively discussion of strategies estate planning clients should be considering now to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.\n \n \n \nOur Speaker\n\nKim McCarthy, Esq. is an ERISA, employee benefits, and tax attorney.  She is a partner at Parker Brown Macaulay & Sheerin, a Rhode Island boutique law firm concentrating exclusively in ERISA and employee benefits law.   \n \nKim completed her undergraduate degree at Brown University, her law degree at Boston College Law School, and her Master of Laws in Taxation at Boston University School of Law.   She has been a practicing lawyer and member of the Rhode Island bar for over 30 years.\n \nDuring her professional career, Kim has received various honors and awards, including PBN’s 40 Under 40, PBN Leaders & Achievers, Tax Lawyer of the Year, and Best Lawyer in Rhode Island in four separate categories.  Most recently, she was honored with the 2025 Rhode Island Bar Association Dorothy Lohmann Community Service Award.\n \nKim enjoys spending time with her family, traveling with her husband, and reading as many murder mysteries as she can.  \n  \n \n\n
